Ballina Salmon Festival
8th - 15th July
Now in its 54th year, Ballina Salmon Festival is one of the West of Ireland’s longest running family festivals, attracting crowds of over 250,000 annually. The event first took place in Ballina in 1964, and was at the time called the ‘Moy Salmon Festival’, based on the fact that Ballina was home to one of the best rivers in Ireland, with the best fishing waters and salmon in the country.
Highlights of the action-packed family friendly festival include A Night at the Proms, Annual Heritage Day, Teddy Bear's Picnic, Festival Mardi Gras & Fireworks Spectacular. Visit the Ballina Salmon Festival website for more information on this year's event.
With live music, street theatre, arts events, food, heritage, fishing, sports and a full children's programme, there's something for everyone at Ballina Salmon Festival along the Wild Atlantic Way.
