Enniscrone is Boeing Crazy
Enniscrone and the nation is going crazy for the arrival of the Boeing 767 on Friday the 6th of May. David McGowan and his team from the Quirky Glamping Village are sailing the massive 767 into Killala Bay by Barge and hoping to bring it up onto the land and place it on site in the Glamping Village. Book some amazing packages for the Boeing 767 Landing
An idea by a local entrepreneur who decided to offer alternative accommodation in his local area has really caught the imagination of the Irish public through his colourful personality and descriptions of the trials and tribulations of trying to move a Boeing 767 from Shannon to Enniscrone, Co Sligo.
With numerous appearances on television and radio David McGowan’s idea is fast becoming one of the most anticipated events in the West of Ireland. With expected crowds of over 10,000 to see the magnificent sight of a Boeing 767 floating in Killala Bay and then being transported onto land is something that will long in the memory for all who will be attendance. This is going to be a once in a lifetime moment and one certainly not to be missed by young and old alike. The entire village of Enniscrone is out to support David McGowan and his team from the Quirky Clamping Village and are creating a real event of the proceedings with different activities and businesses setting up stalls in the Hollow.
The Boeing 767 is without doubt going to be the Centre piece for the Quirky Clamping Village in Enniscrone but it certainly won’t be the only accommodation options available on site. With options to also sleep in Trains, Busses, Taxis and Boats this is going to be an amazing opportunity to try something completely new and definitely something completely different from the normal Accommodation options.
All credit must go to David and his Quirky Glamping team for trying to get this idea off the ground and eventually getting it to this stage. The unique idea will be great for the local area and is giving Enniscrone some national media attention. We are all looking forward to seeing the plane in place and people enjoying staying in it.
